1.
How Are You? 01:29
my voice, like this, is an accident formed somewhere at the back of my throat. wetly shaping the day, it begins as a whisper pulling my tongue like the tug on a turning wave. it pitches, and so begins the flood.
2.
Life In Brio 01:28
I want to feel each day keenly in brio and backed by the headwind the same way that I feel for your future as the promise of celestial alignment and rain to stay bodies in drought. you're out there just living and I wish my heart was always this full.
3.
and in this silence I am wondering if we will ever truly appreciate the ways another person feels like life is driving them out of itself.
4.
all distance is overhauled and I see you briefly, lit from above, as an underpass peeling back each tag and mural in chaotic relief. there is a sense that the excavation matters; the air inhales itself and draws back. a thread of dilute understanding passes, like light, through the eye of a needle, and our eyes too are wild for it, for connection. but it cannot be maintained: our mouths falter and, weakly, the feeling dissipates to join the disparate ranks of another hundred failures hung unspoken between us. I exit shouldering a string of fears in loose orbit of my own sun.
